My Journey into Art!
I’ve always loved all kinds of art – sketching, visiting outdoor shows, galleries and museums all over the country, but I didn’t start painting professionally until 2013. Prior to that I had taken several local classes learning valuable information from each teacher along the way. I moved into my working studio in the Warehouse Arts District in St. Petersburg, FL so that I could be around other artists and focus on my craft. This also allowed me to show and sell to the public.
In the beginning my painting style was mostly impressionist landscapes. In 2016 I evolved into the Abstract Expressionism world no doubt inspired by my Aunt Virginia MacRae who was a local Tarpon Springs Abstract artist in the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s who had studied under the well know artist, William Pachner.
I love the freedom and excitement of the Abstract style and find it as a great way to express my inner self and emotions. I’m constantly evolving, recently delving into minimalism and the use of black to highlight the vivid colors of my figurative abstract and abstract works.
I primarily work with acrylic paints on canvas using brushes, palette knife, etc to apply my paint. Many visitors to my studio say they love my colors.
My works can be found in collector’s homes and businesses.
